I'd like to get an idea of how big they get. Thank you in advance, I appreciate it, Eric-
Texas Rat Snakes, like Blacks, Yellows, Everglades, and Grays can all get to be over 6 ft in length. Snakes keep growing all their lives. So the older they are the longer they will be. There are four limiting factors that came into play here: How long they live. What gender they are. (Males tend to be a little larger.) How much they get to eat. The final factor is their genetic potential.
I have two 04's and they are great little snakes. Sorry, but I don't have a picture of a adult Texas Rat, but I will post a photo of one of my Texans from last year and a photo of an adult Black Rat. The Black Rat photo will give you an idea of what to expect for size.
Best of luck with your new snake.
Rick

My partner is currently caring for our trio of 04 texas rats...1 luec., 2 het (1 red phase) luec. But, here are the adults that bred them out.
The first one is a pic of a red phase...should make for some awesome offspring

I appreciate it. They basically are like corn snakes then I'm guessing. I have held a number of black rats before but they were never fully grown. Just wanted to see how big they get, girth and length. I appreciate it, Eric-

Nice red phase and even your "normal" looks pretty red in the photo.

the snakes pictured aren't ours, but the ones that bred them out. I'll try and get some pics of ours up soon, as they look great (especially the red phase). All 3 were originally hold-backs that were released, and luckily I get first pick of anything that breeder has for sale 99% of the time

This snake was one I baby sat for several months. He was a little feisty at first but calmed right down with rgular handling.
