your websites information no leos is pretty much half wrong. You contradict yourself once or twice and it isn't helping improve the care of leos.

" I will not recommend any other substrate than clean white paper because almost anything other than that has a chance of impacting your gecko"

"I personally use fine, fine sand, even though that has been known to occasionally cause impaction too"
... wait what, you just said " I will not recommend any other substrate than clean white paper because almost anything other than that has a chance of impacting your gecko"
umm, practice what you preach? Your giving the novice keeper the idea that it is still ok to keep your leo on sand since you do it..... and if you can show me a picture of a gecko eating shelfliner, linoleum, tile, or slate i'll take back every comment i made to you must be a true expert.(and i'm talking about whole peices here).

"Your gecko will need a shallow dish of water at all times, and it should be cleaned every 2-3 days"
Every day will reduce the amount of bacteria, so every day is better.

"The warm side should be around 85 degrees, give or take 5 degrees."

Actually it should be around 88-92 and the "give or take 5 degrees"... yeah 5 degrees lower and you will have a dead gecko in months.

"For every gecko, feed around 20 crickets a week, and you can occasionally give them meal worms or wax worms ad a treat."

You do realize thats only 10 crickets twice a week? That simple is not enough, and you didn't even specify whether that should be for babies or adults, so the common novice keeper will assume its for both babies and adults.

Mabye it'd be best if you just deleted your whole leopard gecko carepage altogether and give links to correct caresheets. I'm not trying to be mean or anything but you giving bad advice ticks me off sometimes because if someone reads your carepage and follows it most likly they'll have a dead gecko.

Aha!...that's why he gave them to his cousin who gave them to his grandma who gave them back to him

Nick, I know you're trying to educate people, which is cool, and I wish you the best of luck on your site and babies, but you've gotta double check your facts before you publish anything publicly.

Try to check your facts via the caresheets at the link below. There are many great care sheets and you will probably learn some valuable stuff.

Not trying to rip on you to be mean, just thinking that there are some nasty errors on the site. For example, a warm side of "85 degrees, give or take 5" would be an extemely bad idea for the leos' attempt at digestion and is potential homicide. And "fine sand" causes tons of chronic impactions (the most deadly kind) I've seen too many at my vet office and can give you some nice necropsy dissection photos if you like.

I agree.

Also...crickets are not the only food that should be fed as a staple...Silkworms are much better, and so are roaches.

As was already stated, the temps are off and so is the substrate choice...

supplementation should be different for babies than it is for adults...and needs to be on a schedual.

Its reallynot detailed or very acurate.. we all appreciate what you are trying to do but it sort of sounds like you need to read a few more caresheets yourself before writing one
