I dont have any gold dust days, only giant day and leaftails and banded, but with any hatchling it's always touch and go for awhile, they can appear fine, but may be weak, something wrong we can not see.

I have had other species of hatchlings, appear so cute and healthy, only to find after a couple days that one would die. It seems such a shame that they go through the whole process of coming to BE, and grow and hatch only to DIE but heck as sad as it is at times, it happens to human babies also which is so devastating.

If all your husbandtry was right on, then I guess he just was weakened by something. Make surr your parents especially Mom, is in tip top shape/plenty of extra calcium,

Hang in there, don't give up

yes everything was fine with the temps and humidity and stuff.i dont think he was eating tho.i had pin head crix in there with him and wen he died i cleaned the cage out and all the crix were hiding under the papertowle.but i got a new one i had a 1 week garentee on him.this on is very active and loves to eat so i hope he will be fine.i just have one question.on the way home from the petstore he was twitching alot.is that just stress?and his tail "wiggles" alot.

problems, twitching, muscle tremors, even seizures, can all be a calcium deficientcy. I would watch him very closely and observe now that you have him home if he continues to twitch it is not a good sign.

May want to get him looked at. I treat my female collareds who will twitch after egg laying with liquid calcium syrup.

You may want to see what others think or suggest, but keep your eyes on him. Hope he will be okay!
