Hi,
Personally, I don't think the Western green rat makes a very good pet, and I'd leave them in the wild. There's been a history of problems with this species and I've kept them before myself. I lost one female over winter because I brumated to cold. I wouldn't go below 60*F now. Another female died on me at two yrs. of age for no apparent reason. I finally sold the male and discontinued the project.
Wild caught greens have parasite problems usually. If the snakes you find are w/c or from w/c, there's a chance you could have to deal with some kind of parasite in the future. Be aware of that. Also their care is a little difficult, as they are somewhat sensitive. I think I kept mine at about 75-82*F, most of the time. They are a somewhat nervous snake too, definitely not a corn snake. I wouldn't pay the $200 to $300 for one unless I was very experienced and knew exactly what I was getting into.
Here's one I saw while in AZ this summer, which I left there, btw...

Good luck...TC

>>I think the temperatures should be around 75-80 and a low humidity around 40-50% cause they are from Arizona. Am I right ?
