Leopard, Jaguar, Ocelot, Spotted, Aberrant . . . after shed w/sibs

rick millspaugh Aug 31, 2005 10:03 AM

Here are some pics of this guy after his first shed. He is more a cream colored orange than pink now (I kind of liked the pink). I still like to stare at him though, haven’t tried feeding yet. The second pic is one of his brothers and the deep orange one is a sister (all from the same clutch). I think I’ll keep this one (I need more snakes like I need another hole in my head); it is a sickness.

Excellent decision. I think at one point very soon you would be sorry you let him go if you do. I love seeing more serious interest in these interesting patterns... one day soon we are going to be posting and sharing some of the coolest stuff in thayeri.

It's indeed a sickness.. ABSOLUTE MADNESS... and I love our insane world of the Variable Kingsnake!

Vivid Reptiles '04 female internmediate, way off the pattern topic but worth looking at. Prety much the flip side of the coin as far as pattern goes. Too many of these side by side begin to get a little boring... awesome near perfect patterns and colors, but we desperately need those Jaguars, Leopards, Ocelots, Tigers and everything in between to mix it up and keep it interesting, and the excitement level way up there. Photo compliments of Tim Gebhard.....

I have always liked thoughs intermediate ones. Not a Leonis but not quite a MSP either. A 50/50 phase, I think I called one a Mountain King phase Thayeri once. They are very cool and not often seen. There is no end to the madness.

Those are just Awesome Rick....
You are a lucky man. I, too would hold on to that one just to see what it will turn out and if it will pass on the aberrancies to its offspring.
Great Job man......

I have had a blessed year with the Thayeri and Milksnakes (4 out of 7 Albino's from a pair of het Hondurans, I would have been happy with 2). My birds bred like crud though, less than half of normal. So I guess things even out somewhat.
