Does it matter if you give food cold or warm?

As long as it's thawed out, does it matter?

I make sure mine is totally thawed, and about room temperature. I don't want to heat it and then burn the monitors mouth. Microwaves make very hot spots that can hurt the monitor.

Sometimes I will put the frozen rodents under a heat light, but then give them time to cool to room temperature.

Yikes!!! You said microwave?!?!?! Please tell me you don't thaw mousicles in the microwave... Think *POP* *SPLAT*!!!

As for warm or cold... it depends on the animal. My experience is that an Argus won't normally care, whereas my snakes want it warm. I use our temp gun to check, and when the prey is around 95 degrees, they are offered. Hope that helps...

Now I'm off to disinfect the microwave... Where's the bleach???

I have used a microwave with mice. Just a few seconds to heat up the inside of the mouse. Three seconds in the microwave will get the thawing process going. Much more than that and it turns to mush. I always let them sit for a LONG time to finish thawing and to cool.
