I let it go about three or four inches and then rescued him.
FWIW there are two herp review xray images show black rat snakes that ate themselves. One was a typical "hoop" and the other was a figure 8 or what I like to call the "infinity snake".

Some of them do love other snakes.

It would become a "Mobius snake", and only have one side! Well, only a top or bottom, but not both in this case...
I wonder if it tasted like chicken?
