OK FIRSTLY LET ME SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE ON THE FORUM FROM THE UK.

THIS IS MY FIRST POSTING AND IM ASHAMED IT HAS TO BE ON SUCH A PATHETIC MATTER.
I’VE BEEN VISITING AND READING THIS FORUM FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW AND WAS SO PLEASED TO FIND AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE FOR CROCODILIANS BY PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY TALKING ABOUT AND HAVE FOUND IT TO BE A GREAT SOURCE FOR INFO.
WE ALL NEED THIS TYPE OF FORUM TO LEARN.
YES I HAVE NOTICED THAT SOME PEOPLE POST A LOT OF NEGATIVE REPORTS THAT SOME PEOPLE FIND OFFENSIVE ,BUT IM AFRAID THAT IS THE CASE ON THE INTERNET IN GENERAL. SOME DO IT JUST TO CAUSE ARGUMENTS AND UPSET PEOPLE AND SOME DO IT JUST TO GAIN SOME ATTENTION IN THEIR LIVES AND TO UP THERE OWN POSTS.
I PERSONALLY DON’T AGREE WITH HUNTING AND AM NOT INTERESTED IN IT IN ANY FORM. HOWEVER I EXCEPT THAT OTHER PEOPLES VIEWS ARE DIFFERENT WHETHER RIGHT OR WRONG.
I FEEL TO SEE SOME OF THE REGULAR HELPER’S DEBATING SUCH A SUBJECT ONLY MAKES THEM LOOK AS BAD AND FEEL ALTHOUGH JUST, SHOULD REFRAIN FROM POSTING ON THE TOPIC.

JUST A VIEW OF A NEWCOMER………

PS. THANKS FOR ALL HELP ALREADY RECEIVED COLLIN AND BILL………

If you're referring to Wes' posts...
He posts any relavant news story on all the forums, whether it's about vipers or frogs. Most of us find this an invaluable service even if the story isn't a 'happy' one. And, well, since we're dealing with reptiles and the media, they're almost never happy. But we all need to keep up with current events because they usually end up impacting us directly. I don't have any crocodillians, but I do have a pet that's subject to wholesale slaughter in the US, not just hunting with permits. Doesn't make me happy, but I can't ignore it, and I like to stay posted!
If you're not referring to Wes' posts... never mind... and I must have missed something. :P

I agree with you. These things are happening out there and just because it makes us mad, or sad, or whatever feelings it stirs up is no reason to pretend it doesn't exist. Knowing what's going on is paramount to being able to do something to stop it.

Being forwarned is forearmed - as they say.

Bill

PS: Thanks Wes, for posting your articles, no matter what the content.

I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone as my intension was most certainly not too.
My concerns were not on the contents of the press reports .
I just wanted to express my opinion after reading what seemed to be a long winded argument about hunting and religion . Yes I do understand that the press releases are of great importance to all ,I just felt it was the type of argument that I’ve seen on far too many forums that went out of control. And it spoils what is a very good forum.
As I seem to be getting in trouble already ill quit now and apologise again to all involved.
Keep up the good work.

Ironicaly its posts like yours that get the arguments and bad feelings started. You where giveing your opinion, like everyone else does on here. The only difference was that you where basicaly saying that unless everyone else thinks like you , there opinion shouldnt be given on this forum. Like you i come here to read, learn, ask questions, and sometimes I even get an answer. On these forums you have a broad spectrum of reptile lovers, with an even broader spectrum of knowledge and skill in what they love to do. One thing we all have in common is that we all have different opinions. Some posts may seem off topic, but let it slide and go to the next one. Skinner

your right and very well put i must say....some of worst things are said in the heat of the moment and i stand corrected.
i too maily read and learn and enjoy this forum very much.
i should have did as you said and let it slide but being new and inexperenced i allowed my personal thoughts to as you say cause the very same arguments that i myself too dislike.
anyone reading my last posts sould disregaurd them as the thoughtless inexperenced words that they are......
i will save my posts for more constructive matters in the future.
