Advice for tank setup

Carpet Aug 31, 2005 07:40 PM

I setup my tank today for a pair of cresteds im going to get in a week or so. I wanted to set up everything just make sure temps and humdity are good.

The tank is a 22 gallon high with a large fake root at the bottom and vines all three it for climbing. For substrate i have zoo-med cage carpet.

The temperature is at a steady 76 and the humidity is at 50%. Ive read alot and it's says that humidity should be around 75-85%. I spray the tank and it will get up to 80 but in about 30 mins it's back down to 50%. So i was wondering what is the best substrate to keep the humidity up?

co co fiber is best for keeping humidity up. I use it with my setups, works great for me!

I usually mix some spanghum moss into the repti-bark. The moss is great at holding moisture.

Try one of those small self contained waterfalls in one corner. You won't have to worry about humidity anymore...
