What kind of gopher snake is this?

the_keeper_73 Aug 31, 2005 09:17 PM

This Gopher snake was a rescue in Reno Nevada. We have the Great Basin Gophers here of which I have seen hundreds and this gopher looks nothing like a deserticola. I was thinking maybe it is a pacific, but I have only seen a few of those. All help in identifying appreciated.

Yes, it is the patternclass of the Pacific gopher snake.

But the intergrade area of Pacific and Great Baisin gopher snake is in eastern California. Never heard of natural movements of Pacific gopher snakes into Nevada...

An released pet snake?
