ZeR0 May 17, 2003 09:53 PM

Hey everybody im new to the forum and recently bought my first leo a couple weeks ago. Shes doing good, eating daily, but i have a question. About how many supers should a healthy leo be eating every day? Right now, shes eating good, but alwaysstops at 3-4 supers daily. Does this sound right?
Thanx in advance for help,
Mac

how big is the gecko? i say, as long as it is healthy, and eating regularly, your fine.

ok, ya, i just wanted to make sure it was big enough for supers. you should mix up its diet a bit, if you arnt already. crickets and mealies are really the best for it.

supers are her staple, but the petstore near my house has a really large selection of food. I give her supers, crickets, mealies, silkies, and waxworms(just as a treat)

make either crickets or mealies her staple, and the others as treats.

Superworms are just as good, if not better, than mealworms for use as a staple diet... less chitin.

Crickets, supers, or mealies will all work.

To answer your question, three to four supers daily is plenty.

I think that supers would be a better staple for adults. i feed all my adults supers as a staple. This is becuase, if they got fed crickets or mealies, they would need to eat about 5 times more than they would if they were eating supers.

Since a good sized super is the equivalent to two or three nice sized mealies. Good luck!

another reason i use them is because they get their attention more...l8er
