hey man whats up congrats on your first cham. did you get her from the lady with all the real young chams in the 10 gal and the 10 gal next to it had just one larger female and the rest males? well on the repterarium if your talking about the mesh ones i personally dont like them just because you cant let the lights sit on top and you have to clamp/hang the lighting.also my friend had one and the crickets ate holes in them but some people like them i have found since i have been doing chams they are by far the most conteriversial herp and all people have a wide range of methods i just read all material in all the books and web pages i could find got experience and came to some of my own conclusions on husbanty and it of course helps to study the wild habitats there is a book called The Yemen Chameleon by a german author and although i have a few disagrements the book is all veilds as you know i like to build my own enclosures and i believe screen is much more practical than the mesh. i am constructing a vivarium out of a wood dresser/entertainment thing i have and it is coming along i am going to put my new male in there once he gets big enough. i recently got a male veiled from tyler at blue beast he is doing well hey i will send you pics and your new female looks real healthy females are a handfull but this forum can help out alot let me know if you have any specific ?'s . hows your beardies doing

chameleon screened cage, I think you will be MUCH happier with it. You can see them so much better, they are so much nicer looking, they let much more light in, hands down in my opinion.

I have reptariums, I use them mainly for sunning my other lizards, such as collareds outside. They are great for that, as they are so light to carry in and out.
And make excellent emergency cages or if someone is not feeling well and must be seperated, ya have something.

I did start my pair of smaller werneri chamelons in one, but was disappointed by the fact I could not really see them, it appeared darkish. And I'm sure thats the way they see out of them also .

When I got them a medium sized chameleon cage I was real happy and think they were also. By the time I bought my Panther, there was not even a question as to what cage to buy.

Just go looking at chameleon cages all sizes, don't know how big yours is right now , if its small than you do need something small for now so he can find his food without getting lost/overwhelmed .
But you do want something bigger down the road.

Best wishes with your new friend , post some pics!
