waxworm/mealworm?

RedQuake Jul 18, 2003 06:36 AM

Hi, i finally got my wax and mealworms.....woohoo and even better my leo ate up all the waxies (i hadn't offered mealies yet).

Can i put both mealworms and waxworms in the same dish?

I'm hoping that the mealies will get some of the smell of the waxies on them and he'll eat both. (((for anyone who isn't familiar with my leo, he was sick for a long time, cause unknown, and even with antibiotics the vet thought couldn't hurt, he hasnt gained any weight back at all, this is why i'm feeding waxies))).

Also, i've never seen waxworms before......they kinda look like large maggots (sorry lol).

It won't hurt them, I do the same thing. I don't always offer waxworms to my leos, but mealworms at every feeding. It's good to have a variety of foods I think. :O)

Try putting the mealies in the waxie container or better yet, squish some waxie guts all over the mealies. This will trick the leo into eating.
