heres the description...

"KOMODO - Killer Dragon - HOT NEW DVD

Brand New Factory SEALED DVD. Billy Burke, Jill Hennessy, Kevin Zegers. Something sinister has invaded an idyllic subtropical paradise off the coast of Florida, and it's hungry for tourists. When a vacationing family disappears on the island, a children's psychologist is called in to speak with the only surviving witness--a young boy rendered mute by shock. Determined to uncover the truth behind his trauma, she brings him back to the island, unaware that she's likely to become someone's lunch. Special effects rule the day in this creature feature from the creative minds behind such hits as ANACONDA, DEEP BLUE SEA and JURASSIC PARK. "

I tried to sit through a movie on the Sci-Fi channel where people were running from large, mutated Komodos. The Komodos were as big as large dinosaurs. I ended up turning the channel in 15 minutes. I hope that isn't the same movie.

This one has real sized, starving in an island without food (typical they consider human food) komodoesnsis.
I got the movie, and i find it entertaining, though a bit to fast. I was like " Thats It?".
If you can, rent it otherwise, expect something like Anaconda but a less story :D
Cheers,
Sheri

A 2004 Sci Fi movie giant fake looking dinosaur Komodos. very very B movie maybe a C movie. haha

A 2000 movie not the best but 10 times better then the Sci fi version. You won't learn much sort of like watching anaconda 1 or 2. Still trying to figure out how anacondas got over to borneo hmmm. But hey the robotic dragons look almost real.

There is also another one coming out this year. Komdo vs Cobra from the title alone I assume it will be a ball of cheese.

A friend bought the first one for a few dollars years ago, I rented this one because it was hyped up to look better. The first one had the giant komodos as big as dinosaurs and then some, this one is strange. Id rent it, dont know if Id buy it though.

is the juvie spenceri in the begining, and when the ratty little dog gets eaten. I had to watch it, I know the guy who helped make the robotic dragon (Joel Friesch). Very horrible movei, sorry Joel, lol.

I worked on the cg lizards. I had nothing to do with the design or "robotic" ones. It was a 10' lizard with a T rex head. One of the movie komodos is on display at the East Bay Vivarium." my excuse is "I just work here"

I just saw that thing that last time i was down there a couple weeks ago. Its up on the shelves above the large python cages. I was wondering what the heck it was for.
Thanks for solving the mystery.
=)

How heavy is it btw?

jf Sep 01, 2005 05:45 PM

200-250lbs it comes apart. Its a fiberglass base shape with a silicone skin, thats why its white. We got it for reference when we built the computer model.

Jeff Lemm Sep 02, 2005 02:43 PM

Sorry Joel, I guess I was pumping you up a little too much, must have been the article about you, lol!
