am i a weirdo?

iceyesnteeth Sep 01, 2005 12:03 PM

my new chondro wouldnt eat the mice i breed at home, they are african pigmy mice,so i figured maybe he was used to the smell of normal mice or rats.so i went to the pet store a few days ago and bought a normal mouse fuzzie.anyway,he refused that as well, and after two days of attempting to feed it to him and him refusing,i bought a rat fuzzie that he gobbled up right away.anyway, the poor fuzzzie was sitting cold and shivering for two days, sometimes sitting for hours in a puddle of water on the bottom of my chondros enclosure.i really started to feel bad for him and was amazed that a fuzzie whos eyes hadnt even opened yet, could survive for 2 days with no food, wet, cold and alone.so the day before yesterday i removed him as soon as i saw my snake likes ,and only eats rats.i have no nursing pygmy mice to place him with so i have been feeding him with a syringe full of baby formula,ha ha ha .im such a weirdo.i have no idea why i am doing this.maybe because i have a baby son of my own and im in father mode,or maybe i want to earn some brownie points from the mouse gods,so i am not judged so harshly in the after life for my rodent genocide(has to be in the thousands by now).anway,i didnt think he would have lasted this long but he is really getting stronger every day and his eyes just opened today.i wonder what i should do with him if he manages to survive?i cant feed him to anything now,id feel terrible.just thought id share that and ask if anyone has ever done anything like this when their snake refused a meal.thanks for listening to my pathetic story,ha ha ha .

ha-ha........ ya thats a little weird...

when i started having my son help me with the snakes he did not like me feeding our mice to the snakes, but after a while he started learning how to count by the mice...
snake food 1
snake food 2
snake food 3
snake food 4
etc etc... LOL

he is 4 now and can cound to 65 before he gets boored with it... now every time we go to a petstore he is counting the mice and rats and then tells me how much snake food they have... LOL... it is really funny when everyone looks at me after he tells me...

thats funny lol ,if this one survives and i find him a suitable home,i wonder how lucky hed be,ya know?first of all not being eaten.second, actually surviving as a fuzzie at the hands of a mouse killer, and third being raised on a syringe, living inside of a sock.i think i have to call him lucky.anyone know what his odds were of living to adulthood?when he was born they had to be really bad, considering how he was basically bred for food and all his siblings are most likly in the belly of a reptile by now.im willing to be the odds were like one in a million that hed see his first birthday,ha ha .yea hes lucky,at least so far.oh yea his eyes opened today.i think if he lives a bit longer im going to try and train him to do the thread spool trick from "green mile" the one where they throw the empty thread spool and the mouse gets it and rolls it back.ha ha now what site has instructions on how to teach that!
