Big Orange /Yellow and Black/brown Eastern Kingsnake

Keith Hillson Sep 01, 2005 04:34 PM

I love this hog. He is getting HUGE ! Last measurement had him at 52" and he is a 2003 hatch. Seems to be holding onto some orange pretty good as well but he has lost at least half or more.Underneath is bright yellow so it s a win win lol.

That is awesome! What are they like when they get that big? I love the striping on Eastern King faces. Just Incredible!

I see he's doing great! Post a full body pic of him so I can see his nice orange/yellow! THANKS
My 03' Enge male was 50" last time I measured him and is a VORACIOUS feeder - He'll even try to eat the cage and even himself whenever I go near him. It's funny to see him try to bite ANYTHING wether it moves or not when his feeding response kicks in (which is every time I go near his cage, LOL) He's always had white bands, but he's retaining that pink/peach color on his sides quite well since he was a hatchling. This pic is getting old, so I'll be taking some new pics of him soon

Can anyone say goini influence?

LMAO

Honestly a great looking snake and another cool Hilson pick but I couldn't resist the shot. All this mess in NO and fuel scarity here in the SE has got me wound tight. Thanks for providing a relief valve Keith!

ROFLMAO i hadnt noticed but that getula does appear to have goini in the mix or maybe even fla.king.i guess i never noticed before, i do know keith was really into floridana or brooksi as he liked to call'em,a few years back,?maybe????,,,,,,,until next time america,,,,,,,thomas

Keith Hillson Sep 02, 2005 08:22 AM

I would think it certainly has some Goini influence but since most think Goini is in fact an Eastern I guess thats not really the case lol. Seriously The parental stock is from counties that border Florida so Goini influnce is likely as Im sure dna moves north and south. As far as others ignorant comments on it looking like it has Floridana in it ????? What makes them think that the high band count of thin crossbars or all the ontogenetic change going on between the yellow crossbars lol. Some will say anything to start stuff, I guess there hasnt been enough argueing here. Thanks for the compliments Tony.

You know how I feel on the subject, it is what it is a captive bred snake. In this case it just happens to be a damn fine one.

foxturtle Sep 02, 2005 12:12 PM

...but goini is just a getula getula locality morph anyway.

JETZEN Sep 03, 2005 09:57 AM

It's only obvious, but when do you think it will be official, seems alot of novices AND experts still believe in the "intergrade" and the "it's own sub" ideas.
