A Hippo or a komodo dragan? Hypethetically of course...

im sure the hippo will crush the komodo..Even crocodiles know not to mess with hippos unless there dead floating somewhere.

Lets just say someone happened to put the two together.

In water the Komodo has no chance.

On land he might if he moves and jabs. You know picks his spot just right bites and gets outta dodge. A punchers chance.

But more then likely the two wouldn't fight and they would ignore one another. Or the Hippo would chase the Komodo off.

If you flew a hippo over. Then dropped him with a group of Komodos then the odds turn to favor the Komodo. The Hippo would be out of his elements so to speak.

On the other hand you could do the same with the Komodo. Tipping the scale to favor the Hippo.

So I guess it all depends on the scenario. But the Hippo would still be the odds on favorite.

Hippo hands down, in water or on land, komodos have powerful bites, as do 15 ft nile crocs, and bull sharks, and of the documented fights, between hippos and crocs/sharks, the powerful bites could not even pierce the skin, hippos are huge and have large teeth that would pierce the komodo in seconds and if they didnt fight then the hippo would just use sheer strength to crush the lizard,

The skin is thick but it can be bitten threw or off. If not then crocs would not be able to eat them. Which has been shown.

Like I said the hippo should win, or both animals would ignore each other. Seeing they dont live together it would only happen in certain situations. You could make the situation favor the hippo or the komodo.

Like I said the hippo is the favorite in the fight but the Komodo always has a punchers chance.
