Bullsnake breeders in Iowa (or near)?

trustwhitey Jul 18, 2003 08:47 AM

Are there any bullsnake breeders in Iowa that come to this forum? I would like to discuss the potential purchase of an unrelated pair. I don't want to violate state law by collecting my own.

I know just enough about Iowa's nongame laws to recommend that you get black pine snakes instead. 8-(

Paul would know more about dealing with the Ia DNR and his advice
should probably be heeded. There are a few breeders from out of
state that breed Ia locale bulls, Kern reptile is one that comes
to mind. I do not know if the Ia laws are such that if you purchase
from out of state and keep records, receipts and such that you
will be ok or not. I would do some research and tread cautiously,
bullsnakes are protected in Ia. Otherwise good luck and let us
know what you come up with, Ia bulls are awesome creatures and
wish I still had some myself. Black pines are great too.
