I'm a lurker and never post, but couldn't resist telling about getting 'eaten' by my 2 yo male eastern.
Last night I thought I'd get him out to measure him. Haven't handled him in several months - just been moving him to the other end of his cage for cleaning, etc. He ate two large mice Sunday and he has been a really easy going guy.
I reached in and touched him on his side and then bumped him on the nose with my index finger to let him know it was me. WRONG THING TO DO! He latched onto my finger and wrapped my hand up before I knew what was happening! He must have hung on to my finger for a full minute while constricting my hand, while I muttered all kinds of nasty things. Mean time I'm bleeding all over him and my hand. I thought if I just held him for a while he would settle down, but NO WAY! He bit me on my other hand while trying to unwind him. It took my son and I both to unwind him and place him back in his cage. Sheesh! I was going to get some of the other kings out, but I think I can handle that only once a day......so maybe he gets more than two mice this week?
