Interested in acquiring Drymboius margeritaferus

nekomi Sep 02, 2005 11:46 AM

Hi everyone,

I acquired a new 24" x 10" x 19" display case last week that I am in the process of converting to a small naturalistic enclosure. I have a few ideas of what I would like to keep in it, and one of the animals I'm considering is the jeweled racer.

Is this cage size adequate for one individual? They are arboreal, correct, so would the 19" cage height be useful? Finally, where can I acquire one of the blue variety? Does Mark Lucas still have them? Haven't seen 'em in the Classifieds for awhile..

Thanks!

he gets them every now and then when he does theyre in the classefeids. you have to act quickly though, i tried to acquire some speckled racers from him and he didnt get any in for months, when he did, they sold over night.

i kept contacting him every 2 weeks since thats when he kept telling me he would probably get more so dont listen if he says 2 weeks. all you can do is let him know youre interested and keep checking the classefeids.

I wouldn't really call them arboreal. They can climb but will hide most of the time. They are very very fast so make sure you have a door that can be closed quickly. They use to be abundant from importers but you never see them for sale anymore.

If you feel like paying three times what there worth Glades has some listed http://www.gherp.com Though not really aboreal, they do come from areas that are densely over grown, so they perfer a crowded cage. lots of branches and greenery.
