Thank you.
Living in Biloxi, I am a witness to the devastation wrought by Katrina. What I have seen in relation to the loss of life (animal as well as human), I believe would soften even the hardest hearts.... my mission, for the past 2 weeks, has been one of educating my neighbors in regards to the sudden seeming explosion of cottonmouth sightings...
Every morning at sun-up I would leave my house to help my neighbors..... I would leave with just 3 things, my chainsaw, a gas can, and my snake hook. Many times while helping my neighbors clear their driveways or yards I would encounter cottonmouths.... and mosts peoples response is to "kill em"... I would explain that with all the homes reduced to rubble and undoubtably many cupboards and pantries still having food in them that this type of environment would be a haven for rodents... I would also try to relate that those cottonmouths would be one of best allies as the rodent populations expode.
So now that my cell phone is finally working consistantly... I average about 5 calls a day for removing snakes in my immediate area.
I am tired and very sunburnt but at least a few more of my friends with scales will be around for awhile longer.
Thanks for the info.
Michael
