AlteredMind99 Sep 02, 2005 07:45 PM

For all of you who have been helping me with pogo...

tonight he ate 17 crickets, i had to use tweezers and dangle them in front of him, but he went for them. I think maybe his senses arent what they used to be

He is going to the vet for bloodworm next week

That is excellant news !! Wish my male had the "age" excuse for wanting to be hand fed his crickets LOL I haven't decided if he's just plain too lazy to chase'm down or getting embarrassed by missing when he attacks. My best guess is it's a "guy thing" he just likes being babied LOL

Lol. I have a female leo who is like that to. She is another rescue, my most recent one, Louise. She REFUSES to eat from a dish or hunt crickets on her own. She will only eat when i use tweezers and dangle the worms or throw them in front of her. She has a great appetite though, she is 61grams. And my baby leo refuses to eat if im in the room! I wonder what its like to have "normal" behaving reptiles! Lol

17 Crickets? Nice! That's a ton. Let us know how the bloodwork turns out.

As for "normal" leos...
That's got to be an oxymoron. My most "normal" leos like to sleep vertically, sculpt works of art in the middle of their tanks during the night with substrate from their hides (leo-nardos) and wake me up chirping and squeaking at 3AM.

They're all screwballs! Maybe I have that effect on my critters?

LOL that is too funny. I've never heard my adults make any noise at all, of course my babies did the normal hissing stuff now & then during their 1st week of life, they've not even done that for 3 weeks now. I'll consider myself lucky though, I'm not sure I'd want them waking me up at 3 a.m. LOL

Like owner, like animal...or so they say. Well, I don't believe I "own" my reptiles. We're more like housemates....or perhaps, I'm the human slave/jumble gym.

My cat is extremely vocal, my dog is rather vocal when she wants something, and all the horses I train seem to develop a "voice" of their own...

Most of my geckos are rather verbal and they all sound very different. Its not a frightened, hissing thing, its more like a set of different chirps they use to let me know if they're hungry, pissed off, lonely, bored, scared, etc...not much to the leo brain, but apparently mine are trying to teach me gekko-linguish

Actually I think that is really cool. I've just never heard my adult Leo's verbalize in any way. Now my dog & cat are another thing all together LOL They are plenty vocal
