HEAT PADS?

Troy96 Sep 03, 2005 12:18 AM

Is it alright to use human heating pads for a ball python? If so, then inside or outside the enclosure? And which brand sells one with out auto shut-off?
thanks for any help

human heatpads are fine to use with ball pythons, underneath the tank, not inside. (if a glass tank, prop up the corners over the heatpad so the weight of the tank doesn't crush the heating pad, as they are not made to take any weight). The kind I use without the auto shutoff is Sunbeam (I think, not at home to double check the brand. Will try and do it tonight after work and if it's different, will post it). Make sure it has several settings, so you can adjust how much heat is put out, at least having a low/high setting, if not more.
