questions to west texas hunters?

Joecarroll Sep 03, 2005 03:29 AM

I am going to be driving from California to Louisiana near the end of this month and plan to stop and look around grey band range for the first time ever. I am so excited. I am gonna make sure to spend a full day/night in there range. My questions are---#1where would be a good area for a first time hunter who is travelling alone?
#2is this a ok time of year to be there, or am I to late?
#3what are peak times to be looking that time of year?

THANKS TO ANY OF YOU WHO ARE WILLING TO HELP A NEWBIE

I would look at the weather in the Davis / Alpine area. Not a whole lot of animals come out of that locality, but late in the year it is a good time to look.

You should be as safe there as any other dark lonely road at night. I would not worry too much about it...

Good luck, let us know what you come up with.
