More pics of my huge nigrita

Steve_Craig Sep 03, 2005 01:41 PM

My wife is about five foot tall, and the mexican black is a little longer then she is. So I'm guessing he's around 61-63 inchs. Thanks for looking.

John Cherry's Lemke line Nigritas are huge. I lucked out and purchased an extra surplus breeder he was letting go.

Nice acquisition Steve. That is one whopper of a nigrita and a nice looking one too. I have never seen one that big. Phil

He's in the middle of a shed so he is opaque right now, but when he's finished shedding I'll post some pics when he's glossy jet black. He is an F1 nigrita from breeders out of Mexico. I figured I had an unusually large nigrita, but as I have found out from John Cherry, he is a typical size nigrita for this bloodline (Lemke)

Yea Zee, he's a big boy. I thought I had myself an indigo at first when I pulled him out of the box. Speaking of indigos, post a pic of yours when you get a chance. I don't think I've ever seen your eastern before. Or you can post it over on the dry forum.

Here's a pic (from a couple of months ago) of my niece holding him. I'll have to post some better pics of him later this evening. He's a powerful, THICK, BEAST!!! He's the "Bald eagle" of my snake collection!

I purchased a MBK from a local pet store on Staten Island as a yearling, the guy in the shop said it will be 5ft...i just laughed thinking he doesn't know what he's talking about. However, the snake is approaching two years, and it's already about 45 inches. She's shedding like once every two months so i know she's growing at a rapid rate and considering she's so big already and most Kings reach full maturity at 3-4 years, i expect she'll be around 5ft.

ps - lovely snake you got there
