i bought this guy/gal lastnight at a local petshop. i have been waiting a week to get him. i saw him last week while i was getting some food for my snake and i noticed his neck patterns and flames and everything about him i like.
this guy came from a local breeder who i guess didnt have enough space or time for him so he brought the snake in last week on thursday, so this little guys only been in the shop for a week and a day.
the neck patterns caught my eyes! its like his back is black and then fades into a tanish colors and then goes to complete white on the belly!! his belly is almost clear and he has flames everywhere on him! very very sweet looking i think.
but he has a R.I... as soon as we got home i raised the temps. the temps are in the mid 80s low 90s.. is that okay?
and is a R.I. contagious? is it air born? can a snake catch it through the air? cause i have him/her on top of everybody elses bin... tell me what to do!
well tell me what you guys think of this pretty snake. ill breed him/her next year to see if there is anything hiding inside..

I've never had a snake pass a RI to other animals in seperate tubs.

As for heat during RI, I usually go 90cool 94hot if this can't be maintained I go with a uniform 92deg throughout the tub.

okay thank you. i think i caught this in time. cause hes been in the pet shop for a week and a day. i have had the heat set in the 90s range since friday (when i brought him home). he is such a cool snake. ill wipe the bubbles away from his nose and i think he knows that iam trying to help. he crawled up my sholder so he could stretch out and he loves it! i feel like ive owned him for years.
but i would just like to know peoples opinions on his coloring. i mean yes iam still learing about breeding and stuff about these snake. and i have learn quite a bit just by going on this site. kingsnake is good. but do you think he could be a het for something? like a genetic stripe or something?
i dont know. tell me what you think.
