hi all,
there's an alligator lizard living in my appartment building in the entryway. i think it's a northern alligator lizard. it's been living there for a while already. i put some (6-7) socks and it ran right into the pile and now lives in there. but this can't last forever. somebody will step on it and kill it one of these days. i am not sure if it's wild or lost, male or female, maybe it's even pregnant. i also don't want to keep it in captivity.
so, i'd like to release it into an area where it's a natural habitat for it. i live in san francisco. where i live it's pretty cold so the lizard doesn't go outside much, only on rare sunny days. it spends most of the time in the pile of socks.
can anybody advise as to what would be the best place here to take it to and release. I read that there are a lot of northern alligator lizards in presidio park. does anybody know of a particular place in presidio?
please, help!!!
ps: i'll try to post some pictures of it today.
