Bairds

Snakesunlimited1 Sep 04, 2005 12:23 AM

I picked up a 2.1 WC trio in Texas a few months back on my trip there looking for alterna. They were all small and I hoped to breed them next year. Well the larger two where bagged together for the shipping back up and apparently they thought they were big enough to breed. I ended up with 4 eggs a couple months back. Two went bad right away and two looked good. Tonight while feeding I looked in on my eggs and one of the eggs was hatching so I guess the shipping box was a sexy place for this pair. i will get pics up when they come out.

My two eggs hatched out and the babies are huge. They are bigger than any of my corns that have been out of the egg for a month. What is the usual size on these guys. I am thinking that it is because I had a female that was small and she gave me big eggs but I would like to hear from some of you guys.
Thanks Jason

Bairds babies are always huge, I have only ever had large eggs from them but I have seen at least one picture and heard of some who have produced smaller eggs, but still large babies.
