A statement to Locality Breeders..................

madisonrecords Sep 04, 2005 10:56 AM

Some of you may think; " Oh, boy Johnson Herp is trying to explain himself again and to be honest, you would be right in thinking so. " Ever since my debate with Gus on Friday, wich was erased by the Webmaster, it has been on my mind to make a few things clear. " I am sure the Webmaster felt that it was getting out of hand and maybe in a way it was, but myself and Gus " or maybe I should speak for myself " I have no bad feelings toward Gus and in fact have an immense amount of respect for what he does and have enjoyed our conversations by phone several times. Their has been some confusion, on were I stand on Locality Boas, Gus seemed to think that from some of my past posts, that; " I thought all Boas were the same. " My reaction of course was; " Were did you come up with that? " Now, it is very possible that on some day when this tired ole truck driver was giving opinions on a topic at hand, that I may have said something that led him and maybe some of you to that conclusion and if that is so and according to Gus it must be so, then that was not the intention. The only point that I ever remember trying to make and is still my belief is, and read this carefully; " SOME Boas within certain ranges, especially B.C.C. cannot be identified with any real certainty, based on their color and or pattern and if you are not lucky enough to know the exact locality of your Boa, then the next best thing is to at least indentify the species, B.C.C or B.C.I. for example and breed it AT LEAST within the species. " This is pretty simple to understand and if somewere down the line " even though I cannot remember " I may have said somethiing that was not along these lines, I apologise for the contradictory, but now I have made it clear. I also made the statement in Fridays post that; " Gus and myself and some others have been lucky enough to acquire some exact Locality Boas and I deemed that to be very special. " Now, it was taken as if I was saying that everyone elses Boas was crap. That was not what I was saying even in the slightest, BUT once again if by some chance I may have worded it in a way that it came out like that, then you guys have my apology. Knowing the exact Locality of your Boa is a very special thing these days, but that is not saying that if you do not, your Boa is worthless. I have never seen a healthy vibrant Boa that is worthless. No matter what it is, it is special in it's on way and deserves love and care. Locality info, is just what means the most to me on a personnal level. I have Boas that by Market Standards are gorgeous and you guys would agree. I also have Boas that are ugly as sin to Market Standards and yours. Why, keep Boas that most people would consider ugly? " I know were they came from and their Locality info, is more important to me than what the Market deems beautiful as far as color and pattern and this also reinerates FULLY my first point on were I stand on Boas all being the same, " wich they of course are not. " Now, I am sure some of you guys are laughing right now and maybe thinking; " Johnson we could care less about all this garbage and were you stand. " I assure you that; " That is O.K., I just wanted to get this out in the open for my own piece of mind. " This is NOT to create a battle or debate, simply to make an opinion known, so that there will no longer be any confusion on were I stand when I reply to future posts. Love, Ya! Gus and I need to mail you one of my C.D.'s It is the real deal country............Johnson Herp

Thats why I spent so much time and money finding boas, that were true, and very good representatives of their localities.
