Extreme Vanishing Tangerine Albinos

jlambert Sep 04, 2005 02:20 PM

What do you guys think of these? I am calling them Extreme Vanishing Tangerine Albinos for now. The term EXTREME is not to be confused with Mike Falcon's Extreme bloodline. I use the term extreme because the vanishing in my opinion is abnormal to the extreme side. I would like to know if anybody has produced anything like this.

That is really amazing. I really love to see things like this popping up in the Honduran Milk scene because it seems people get used to the sight of Ghosts and Snows and of course the more common morphs. Some even act as if these beautiful snakes are just going the route of Corns and losing value. I for one feel there's tons of potential yet to be seen in these snakes and that beauty is just evidence that I am right! Awesome snake bro, best of luck with it. Tom Stevens

John:

Congrats. That has to be the most exciting thing I've seen in Hondurans this year. Unlike anything else out there. What did the parents look like? Bloodlines?

WOW John....
I remember asking Terry Dunham early last year if there were any vanishing pattern albinos......And since there was not I almost pursued such a project, but did not.....LOL
I am glad that one eventually popped up.
Great job and good luck with those.

john,

One or two of those are some of the most dramatic vanishing pattern tangerine albinos i've ever seen.

you asked if people had seen any patterns similar to that, i've attached a photo of my vanishing pattern extreme hypo male. his markings (the size & placement, not the color) remind me of the markings on one or two of your albinos.

i think using "extreme" will confuse matters rather than clarify them. I suspect the "need" to create an additional name is really not necessary, because we've almost never seen a true vanishing pattern tangerine albino. Thje problem is that people mis-use terms and call some animals that should be called "pinstripe tangerine albinos" "vanishing" patterns instead. It's the same looseness with standards that has some people advertise as "tangerine albinos" animals that are merely halfway between a tricolor and a tangerine. But if you look back at some of the vanishing pattern hypos people produced, they're the pattern equivalent of your albinos, and I think the name is still right on. And we're probably better served by being consistent.

Most importantly, where will you draw the line: will we end up with the same gray areas between what you call an extreme vanishing pattern and just a "regular" or "intermediate" vanishing pattern that we now have with "extreme" hypos? we've already got, in the patterns, "regular/pinstripe/vanishing" pattern in a sort of continuum. Do we want to create additional divisions in each of those, and expect people to use the labels consistently? or would we be better off sticking with three categories?

Lastly, there have been animals shown in the past where people disagreed whether they were albinos or extreme hypos. I think adding "extreme" to the label for a type of albino is really gonna confuse some people. Eventually, someone will propose to have an "extreme-extreme". Ouch!

Anyway, i think you've shown us pictures of several of the prettiest and most dramatic vanishing pattern tangerine albinos i've ever seen. Way to go! And for those who have seen only the pix, john was nice enough to invite me over to see the animals in person, and they're as beautiful "live" as in the pix--or moreso. They're gonna make some striking adults.

peace

Terry,

I have received several suggestions that I not use the term Extreme because it confusses people. Somehow they will confuse Extreme Hypo with Extreme Albino. I do not see this as being possible. But because everyone is asking me not to use the term Extreme let me ask who assigned the word Extreme to Mike Falcnons Hypos? Did Mr. Falcon do this or Mike Alveras or did you? I want to ask the person who first produced the Extreme hypo if this is how their animals are to be referred to. If it will make everyone happy I will call them "John Lambert Tangerine Albinos with Vanishing patterns that are beyond average in any Honduran Morph." Or is that to long? Anyway I hope the term "Ultra" is not being over used in the corn snake market "or is it" Peace John
