Hypomelanistic Coleonyx mitratus? <br>Coleonyx mitratus

Onlyness Sep 05, 2005 03:50 AM

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knew if any coleonyx mitratus morphs exist? I was at the local PetCo today and I noticed a spectacular c. mitratus. It had an almost full stripe down its back, and it seemed to lack most dark pigments (hypomelanism maybe?). I've seen enough "normal" examples in my time to know that this species varies ALOT in their patterns, but as I mentioned: I've never seen anything like this... Well maybe I shouldn't hype its appearance that much, it just struck me as something odd, and I'm probably going to be back tommorrow or so and probably pick it up. If I do, I'll try to post pics (hehe another reason I don't want to make a big deal out of its appearence, I'm afraid I might be the only one that finds it cool!)
Thanks alot,
Trevor

I think anyone who has them would find it really COOL, I would. I have a female, cute lady, I have not found her a mate yet, but one day soon.

I have often wondered if anyone ever breeds the centrals with the desert bandeds so on to get a Differnet Look?

Hope you get him!

So I went out today a picked her up. She's not nearly as light as I thought she was, nor is the stripe as perfect as I remember, but she is an odd ball. As soon as I get my camera charged up I'll post some pics. I mentioned that I may have over hyped her, and I may have at that, but I'm happy with her. And yes I'm positive that she's a C. mitratus. You guys'll have to let me know what you think when I post pics.
Thanks very much,
Trevor
