Hi, I was wondering if there's anyone that has a sulcata and lives in ny? I want to buy one but just alittle nervous about housing outside when he or she is older. The winter months here are really cold.

I don't have sulcatas, but know one person that has a couple larger guys up here. He keeps them in the basement, in the winter and at night, which is entirely dedicated to them. He has a few different lighting stations, where heat emitters and UV lights hang and has piles of hay for them to sleep in and bury in if they want. They also have a large tub thingy to soak in.
Another idea is to build a shed outside big enough to keep it in during winter, and to heat that and putting flouresant light fixtures in for UV during winter. During the summer the lights can simply be turned off and a door can be kept open for it to wander in and out as it wants. Keep in mind you will also probably need a cement fence that goes into the ground to keep it in your yard when its full grown.
