Blizzard (in most cases) are completely white, almost leucistic. Most have very little (almost none) visible pattern. Snows have a very obvious visible pattern and most form visible streaks of yellow around their necks. But both are beautifull snakes. But this does bring up a question to mind....If you had a completely white blizzard, what would keep it from being labeled leucistic?

good question, look what you did! you made me think, why would you do that?

so there is a big difference between the two right? because i dont want to spend the extra for a pale snow.

Phenotypically (physical appearance):
Snows tend to have much more distinct patterns. Where a blizzard at most will have faint yellow outlines where their saddles would be, a snow will have obvious saddles. Snows range from pink and white to white and yellow to pink and light lime green. Blizzards range from white with light yellow outlines to completely white. Both blizzards and snows can have yellow on the necks, although it's MUCH more common in snows than blizzards.

Genotypically:

Snow = Amelanistic and Anery A
Blizzard = Amelanistic and Charcoal

So, which to get is based on a) what you want it to look like as an adult, and b) what you want to breed it to if you plan on breeding it.

A blizzard x snow will produce: amel het charcoal het anery.

Neither a blizzard or a snow should have black eyes as both morphs are made up of amel and something else (charcoal and anery). Amel is amelanistic, or lacking black. As far as I know there are no lucistic corns that aren't hybrids. An amel x blizzard will produce: amel het charcoal and amel x snow will produce amel het anery. It all depends in what you want to do down the line.

Leucistics are completely patternless and cannot be "made" like snow corns (just like an albino cannot be "made," people found them in the wild and bred them).

Blizzards and snows are albinos bred to two different types of anerys. One type has less pattern when made in to a snow (hence the name "blizzard".

If you plan on breeding snakes, blizzards are worth more than snows - this might help with your decision.
