fecal matters...?

flbriaz Sep 05, 2005 09:00 PM

My boyfriend's mali has a strange behavior. When he holds it, it becomes very hyper, but if he holds it for more than about 10 minutes, it drops a load on him on every time. His male Nigerian has also become much more active since it's arrival, but does not exhibit the same pooping behavior. We are perplexed, at a loss. Has anyone else experienced this, or know why this is happening?

i have no idea really. but just as a suggestion, does he handle him right after eating? or is the uro kind of lazy and then when it becomes active, it helps "turn on" his bowels? i have never had a problem with my malis pooping on me but one time when i let one run on my bed for a long time, she decided to poop there

no, it's active all the time. It doesn't when he holds it, it just poops.

Could it be to nerves? I had a Uro that while it was still getting used to being handled it did that. I a guessing because I usually put him back in his tank afterwards to clean things up he learned to associate pooping with going back in his tank... Once he got more used to being handled (and I stopped putting him back after he relieved himself), the behaviour disappeared.

Just a thought.
