harmful substrates? what do you keep as a substrate?

I just wanted to make a natural setup.What are the harmful substrates? What er the good ones?I am going to feed the snake outside the enclosure to be sure nothing gets stuck in her mouth. Ijust kinda wanted to survey it. Thanks to all that reply.
