male or female?

drzrider Sep 05, 2005 09:29 PM

I haven't been able to find an Argus that I wanted to buy so I got this Dumeril. It is about 2.5 feet long. When I first put it in the enclosure it drank water for 5 minutes strait. It ate a mouse soon afterward. I should be able to fatten it up and get it healthier with some time and care.

I got some pictures of the monitor today. I am sure it is wild caught so it is shy and needs to get used to its new enclosure.

What do you think? male or female?

Thanks Frank,

I thought the tail base area looked male, but I wanted your opinion.

Thanks again

Looks male top me as well. Noticable bulge and the pores above the vent are very visable.

No argus yet??

Why don't you just come down and get mine? I also have a pair of flavis if you'd rather.

That is very tempting. I will e-mail you later today.

I have a large 2 year old male BT. He is 5 1/2 feet and 25lbs. I got him as a 12 inch baby. I wanted a male and hand picked him from a batch of babies and got my male. I say you definitely have a male. That's what I say.
