I just got a ball python, Im not sure how old, but its a little over a foot long.
I know I can take him to the vet to find out for sure the sex, but is it true that if there are those two little prongs on the side of the anus area that its a male?
Because mine has those... help!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think those spurs are present in both males and females. But the male's spurs are larger. I believe so, anyway. You'd probably have to do a side by side comparison with a few sexed BPs to be sure, or take it to an experienced breeder or vet.

There are spurs in both sexes and theoretically the male's are bigger. I haven't bred a ton of BPs but I do know that my best male was bigger than any other BP I had seen, was notorious in the county even for his being a BIG GIRL. Til he was probed and went on to breed with the girls. HE had tiny spurs too. I would find a knowledgeable breeder to probe for you.
