Ok Im sorry to be so worried all ready but heres my set up.....

heffner2212 Sep 06, 2005 12:31 AM

Ok well now I moved him into a shoebox measuring from 12"x6"x4". He has a hide in there and a water dish. The humidity is around 60% in there. And the ambients is around 82. There are many air holes also. I am going to see if that works then if he eats twice for me then ill put him back in the 10 gallon. In the 10 gallon The ambients were 82-84 and the hot saide around 95 ...he never moved from his cool hide though. There is a hide on each side and a water dhish in themiddle with a humidity of arounds 40%...the weird thing is that he ate 2x for mne then just stopped. I dont get it....Hes not in shed at all.....Im just freaking out because hes reminding me of my old ball python which I hated.,....Im so used to burms and their crazy feeding strikes.....anyway Can anyone spot a problem with anything....Also he is so tame and nice and not scared of me s I dont think he is stressed
thanks a lot
Mike

It all sounds fine to me, but I really wouldn't worry yet. Just leave him where he is and don't handle him until he's eating. I would actually leave him in his current enclosure until he outgrows it. The more you mess, the more he'll stress!!!

Outward behavior isn't your first sign of stress... change in behavior IS. So you can't really say he's not stressed... just leave him be, and he'll eat when he's ready.

Yea realy... leave your snake alone for awhile. And why would you move it from that container if it started eating... it obviously isnt happy in the tank.

well for one if the heat is at 95F id tone it down to between 88F and 90F. 95 is a bit much. also, some snakes have little nuances about them. i have one blood that wont eat unless i cover the tank with a towel, turn off the light and leave the room. i have a dumeril that for the longest time refused to eat anything but mice. i know of some people who have snakes that will only eat white mice or rats. if it has a different color on it, forget it. i know of a 14 foot burm that will only eat mice (that has to suck). all you have to do is just find out what your snake's little feeding preferences are and just work with it.
