feeding red-leg walking frog (kassina maculata)

Grish Sep 06, 2005 01:49 PM

After years of keeping reptiles, I ventured into amphibians with a pair of red-leg walking frogs (kassina maculata). I did quite a bit of research before buying, but the one question I have is, "How much should I expect them to eat?" I don't want them to go hungry, nor foul the tank w/ cricket bodies. I've tried to monitor the feeding, 6 crix per night, and they are getting gone, so I know I'm not overfeeding. Being nocturnal, it's hard to monitor how fast the frogs are eating and how much they could possible eat. Any ideas?

I've had mine for about a year the females are the size of my hand. So they might not be adult size yet. Mine eat 12-15 crix each three times a week.
