White nThayeri

KenCasstevens Sep 06, 2005 02:38 PM

I was just wondering if anyone has, or knows anyone who has some high white Thayeri. I bought this male about a year ago, and I haven't seen another one like him. Are they pretty rare?

Yes, they are somewhat rare compared to other colors. They have become more common in the last couple of years.

Try Dan Vermilya - I think he still has his white breeders and produced some very white thayeri last year.

Good luck,

White ones seem to be getting more common, but I still think Dan V produces some of the best. He has some great breeders.

You guys are right Greg and Tom....Dan Vermilya has the best white ones around and does still breed them. I think his new website will be up some time soon.
I also think he may be breeding some leopard thayeri into his white line.
Am I right Dan.....LOL....Just guessing, but that is what I want to see. Then I can work on my orange leopard.

I'm seeing more and more white, yellow, and orange leonis thayeri. It's true white is more rare to see and Dan is the Man!
I'm an equal opportunity sick addict and I love them all, including MSP.

White has to be the rarest, but is becoming more and more available thanks to the efforts of Dan Vermilya and I am sure some others.
The hardest for me to produce are the yellows, but with "big yeller" that should be no problem.....I got two yellow MSPs this year......HAHAHAHAHAHA
Orange is pretty common....they were the first ones I produced from my Vivid stock...I thank Tim Gebhart for doing all the work on them......
I really like the MSPs, but Leonis phase thayeri are more variable in color and pattern....Just my opinion.....

Here's a male leonis from Dan V's collection. this one seems to be turning more and more yellow. He was a straw yellow when I got him.

That's a gorgeous snake Chris. Do you, or anyone else know how to get in touch with him? I would LOVE to talk to him about his whites. Or maybe someone who knows him could just give him my email address, and ask him to email me at his conveinence. Snakeluv64@aol.com. Thanks to all of you who posted. Sounds like he's the guy I need to talk to.
