Totally Awesome. How many eggs of the South Mountain have hatched thus far? My girls can't wait until ours hatch!

I hatched out only six so far with another 5 to go. I lost over half of my eggs this year. I think 11 total will hatch out of about 30 that were laid. I did not get any redback eggs this year. My female hispidus laid 8 out of 15. I had to have the other 7 surgically removed. 7 out of the 8 laid hatched. I lost one about a month in. All and all it has been a pretty bad year. I lost one female redtail eggbound. I think some of it had to do with not hibernating last winter plus all but one of the redtail clutches were first clutches. About half of those lost were not fertile.

I read your post. I looked at the pics. I felt strange. Cold? Flu? Worse. It's Baby fever!!!! Chuck variety of course. The last time I got this I ended up paying DVL the Nicholson fortune and converted my garage into a lizard room!

Congrats Tom. great news.

The South Mountains are usually always like this one. You can definately tell them from other chuck hatchlings.
