Some pics of my new snake!

Kinglvr Sep 06, 2005 06:51 PM

Hey everybody, I just wanted to post some pics of my new snake. It's a 3 week old (roundabout)Goini 1.0. I've really been wanting one bad as of late, and when I saw this guy, I had to get him, plus, he was only 40 bucks. Another reason I purchased him is because I plan on breeding him to my hypo. floridana female in a couple of years. Anyways, I know he's nothing special to some of you, but any opinions and comments are welcome and highly appreciated. OH, and sorry for the poor quality pics, by feeding him was the only way to get him even remotely close to still. He's still a bit skittish to say the least, but he's gonna be an awesome snake.

Here's a pic of his future mate.

Thanks for looKING guys!

Hey don't talk crap about your snake man. It is a nice looking baby. I like all the wild type goini I see. They are a great snake and you got a nice one there. As far as what you are going to breed it to thats your choice. Just be good enough to sell them as what they are. I only got two babies this year both are females and one is a pig and eats everything while the other won't eat pinks yet. Here is a pic of one of them. And again nice snake.

Thanks a lot for the comments (what's your name again?). I was definitely not talking bad about my snake. I bought him because he's beautiful, that's the MAIN reason why. Also, about the breeding, I'm not gonna breed them until I understand more about gene pools and all that stuff. Like which parent carries the dominant gene, etc. I couldn't sell the babies for what they REALLY are though, because I don't know the origin of either snakes, like if they're het for something or whatnot. I dunno, I'm really trying to learn more about all this stuff, it's just that I'm not too zoologically inclined I guess.

Once again though, thanks for the comments.

When he said to make sure you represent them for what they really are, he meant : If you are going to breed a goini to a hypo floridana, make sure you represent them that way. i.e., that they are crosses. Not a pure goini or a pure floridana, but crosses. So, you CAN sell them for what they really are. Hope you understand.

Hey man you said he was nothing special!!! I should have put a smiley on the first post to show I was just messing around with you. Also don't worry about a normal of any king being appreciated on here because there is a large group on here that likes the normals. Thats why we come on here. I prefer normal kings and aberant patterned snakes myself more than most the morphs. as far as the represent thing what the guy above said is right. Almost all the people on here agree on this at least. LOL Always give as much info on your snakes as you can when you sell them especially when you cross differant subs. Good luck and keep posting pics.

Very nice typical apalachicola lowland.
here's some of mine,
1. this one was sold to me as a "red & black brooks" of course when i posted pics of it last year everyone had to tell me it's a hi-orange goini, lol.

2. this one wsa sold to me as a hi-orange blotched,

3. and this one was sold to me as a goini"blotched"

hooking your florida up with your lowland oughta produce some nice looking offspring.
thanks for looKING

Zeus, I figured that's probably what he meant, but I was basically just trying to say that I'm not going to breed until I'm more comfortable with various aspects that I need to better comprehend. Sorry for the confusion.

Jason, right on man. Thanks for the comments.

Jetzen, of all the snake collections I've seen on this site, yours is definitely one of my top 2 favorites, I think I've told
you that before though. Nevertheless, thanks for the fabulous pics.
