TERRANET (Beirut, Lebanon) 06 September 05 Albino python caught in Spanish tree
Spanish authorities in the Balearic Islands resort of Llucmayor said they had had to call in a specialist to rescue a three-metre (10-foot) long albino python weighing 13 kilos (29 pounds) after passers-by reported seeing it up a tree.
The regional government's environmental office noted that abandoning an exotic animal was an offence, as officials tried to establish who owned the creature, molurus bivitattus, and how it had come to escape.
