A Handful of black agamas babies :0)

PHEve Sep 07, 2005 01:03 PM

These little guys are a month old now! Real cute, I woke them last night late to do a cricket round-up, as I saw crickets bothering the babies when they were asleep

So I held them in my hand and got this pic, one little guy in the middle, still wanted to sleep Pretty trusting, hehehee !

Eve,

They are wonderful. You seem to do no wrong with your critters. Quick question: Describe the temperament of the adults. I have admired this species from afar for years but I've become spoiled by the "dog tame" nature of chucks and uros. I've talked with different people and received mixed results on the temperament of this species. I've heard everything from BD dragon like behavior to extreme skittishness.

Okay, I'm exhausted from non lurking. Kidding. I always look forward to pics of your lil' ones.

John thanks fo rthe nice words about the baby agamas.

Well I have an adult male and 3 lovely ladies with him, and they were all wc and pretty feisty and skittish. As time goes on, they seem to look for you and realize you bring the good stuff they want, hehehehe !

I have a couple of the adult females getting much more friendly and will stay with me, it just takes a LONG time and lots of patience. I wear them out , evenually they give in, hehehee .

The kids I'm hoping will be much more calm, I make them get on my hand a couple times a day, and they will sit nice. They are inquisitive, and REALLY wait for me , get excited to see me, (WHICH IS NICE, I EXCITE SOMETHING, heheheheheh)

I'm trying to have them like a collared or beardie, nice and handlable, before finding them homes.
