how big do they get? About 6 feet in length. They get to be about 20% bigger then a corn will get.
can i keep hem in the same conditions as corns? Yes, you can keep them in the same conditions as your corns. I would provide a branch for the snake to climb on.
are they as docile as corns? Depends on the snake. I have two Texas Rats that are just great.
is there even a difference between them and corns? Yes! They are not the same species. Corn Snakes and Great Plains Rat Snakes are the same species. Black, Yellow, Gray, Everglage, and Texas Rats are also all the same species. P. guttatus guttatus and P. obsoletus lindheimeri are very close, but they are not the same.

Good answers in general. A little more on just how "docile" texas rats are may help:
On AVERAGE they are a bit nippier and more active. Most of them can be "tamed" to be almost as calm as a corn. You may find that you need to work with them a little more in order to wind up with a calm snake.
My luecy is the only one of my snakes that has really bitten me. He was a biter when very young and for the most part has grown out of it. I am no longer "careful" when I pick him up, resulting in yet another bite a month or so ago.
Great snakes. They have a REPUTAION for being biters, but are well worth the extra efforts which MAY be needed to tame them. If you are interested in getting one, I would not hesitate.
