6' full adult size on males and 7' full adult size on females..

Babies are hatched at 50-60 grams. At 2 years of age are only 30-36"

They are no different than other pythons, if you handle them they are ok, if you never handle them they may bite..

Wild caughts are very mean and dont do real well. Stick with C.B.

Hope this helps

Has anyone bred dwarf to dwarf this year. I haven't seen any for sale.

Beau Sep 09, 2005 02:11 PM

I dont think anyone has produced dwarf to dwarf since 2003. Not any people have females big enough or established enough.

Should be some this year from at least one breeder.

I know a dwarf male has been bred to morph females!!

Corbin Sep 09, 2005 02:39 PM

Yeah, Jim Mason bred one of his males to a female albino burm.

Here is a pic of one of the offspring from the dwarg X morph breeding this last breeding season. I bred one of my males to an albino possible double het green/granite females. Also, as far the imported dwarfs go. I haven't had much trouble with mine. The females are easy, the males are not so terrible that you can't deal with them. WC dwarfs are a bad route to take if you take the time and have patience. Just like anything else in this hobby.

I wonder how big these "dwarfs" have to be to breed? If the females aren't big enough now, could that mean that the adult size is a lot bigger than everyone is thinking?

Beau Sep 09, 2005 04:57 PM

No.. Other than wild caught mature females that a few have, there are only females that are just 2 years old. Or wild caught females that came in sub adult.

The females breed at 4.5-5' and males at 3.5'..

Wild caugth snakes dont breed well in captivity, at least most dont for a few years, they need to adjust.

These are NOT like the dwarf retics which get 15' or more. These actually stay small.

A normal burm with heavy feeding would be 10' or more after 2 years, probably around 15' for a female.

These pure dwarves are almost 3' at 2 years of age with very heavy feeding.. Big difference..

Very cool. Were there a lot of dwarfs broughtr into the country? How many people are working with them do you think? I look forward to seeing true captive breds available.

If someone bread a dwarf to a normal albino female, wouldn't the offspring get a little/lot bigger then a true dwarf?

Corbin Sep 10, 2005 10:56 AM

Yes they would be bigger, but that's the start of getting dwarf morphs.
