What does and eye infection look like?

My baby veiled has some black stuff around one of his eyes. I have seen him rub it on some leaves. Please help

Hard to picture what you mean. Chams do rub eyes occasionally while cleaning them. If there is a black crust on the eye around the iris you need a vet probably. You can try to see if it is dirt or dried mucuous by flushing the eye turret with sterile saline (contact lens rinse) first. Don't put anything into the eye itself unless a vet has given you a diagnosis.
