I like "Sandy Claws!" That's very cute

I think I'll be sticking with a jazz theme, though; not quite sure yet. I named my new collareds Ella (Fitzgerald), Miles (Davis), Billie (Holliday), Bird (after Charlie Parker), and Coltrane (as in John Coltrane). Goodness knows there are enough jazz artists left over to cover these three.

such beautiful patterns! maybe it is the sand, but in this picture the toes look really long, are they proportionally longer than a collareds? (does that make any sense?) i have never seen one in person, or not that i remember

Their toes are about the same as a collared's proportionally. Actually, they are so similar to the collared lizards, they're like collareds without the collars However, I have been told that these particular females will grow to be huge "like desert iguanas," he said.

Nice looking lizards! Yearlings? Do you know were they came from? I have a picture of one that I had found, but it was really speckled. I think I have it on paper but there is a chance I lost when my computer crashed. Maby next year they will have some BABIES?

Morgan

lizard_lover Sep 08, 2005 06:26 PM

They are captive born, and the fellow who had the babies did tell me where the parents were from, but now that you ask, I can't recall. Sorry.

If I ever work up the nerve to brumate my lizards I may have some babies. I'd sure like to have some, they are such beautiful lizards.

I almost forgot to answer your other question; they are about a month old--too young to brumate this year, so I don't expect any babies next year.

Well when it does come time to brumate you'll have to do it, think of how much fun it will be to have BABY LIZARDS! I'm sorry but I forgot do you have a pair of collareds? I can never remember anything, some times I forget what I did the day before.

Good luck,
Morgan

lizard_lover Sep 08, 2005 11:28 PM

Oh, I'd dearly LOVE to have baby lizards! The problem is that I might have to keep them all

Yes, I do have a pair of collareds--I actually have nine including two boys and seven girls. These days I have trouble keeping up with what I have too, not to mention what everybody else has.
