SAFE!!!... but lonely in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Jake_Jackson Sep 08, 2005 04:38 PM

Hello everyone, I was in New Orleans when that bastard storm came through and had to be rescued. My 2 leos are STILL in New Orleans unattended as I was not allowed to bring them with me.

When I am allowed back to the city hopefully my Leos will be nice and plump as I left a good amount of worms for them, but still there is no power in the city, so the lamps and pads aren't on. I have no intention of leaving them there without going back for them.

Anyway, now I'm in Oklahoma City trying to start over. Anyone in or around the Oklahoma City area who breeds Leos or knows of some quality petstores please respond, as I wish to get a 'special' Leo to mark this new step in my life.

My funds are limited, but I really need the comfort of a nice looking leo. So, anyone who can help out please respond, and yes I do have proper New Orleans ID, and the Red Cross has set me up an apartment in the city.

Im really glad you are ok. Its awful that you had to leave your leos. any idea how much longer before you will be able to go and get them?

There are organizations that are trying to rescue the animals, you could try contacting them to see if they could get your leos.

Jake, I'm so glad you are OK. Well, I don't think anyone can truly be "ok" after this horrendous tragedy, but I am so glad you're safe. (don't get me started on the whole thing because I will yell and curse FEMA and the gov't for hours)

I hope you are allowed to collect some possesions and your leos sometime soon. It's terrible you had to leave them...I can't imagine that. If I was asked to leave my cat, dog and reptiles I prolly would have pitched a fit, stuck the geckos in my pockets and been kicked off the rescue vehicle. So sad.

Condolences for the horrible losses you and your neighbors have suffered. Feel free to come to California. We're all willing to open our doors, our schools, and our hearts for anyone seeking sanctuary in the middle of this horrendous mess.

Its terrible how all the animals have to be left behind. I was hearing about one man who wasn't rescued and was left behind because he wouldn't leave his dog!

I'm sorry to hear about your leo's being stuck and I hope you get them back safely. I lived in the OKC area until about 4 years ago and when I lived there I never saw a pet store that carried leo's and I'm one of those people that checks out every pet store near me. Your best bet in getting another leo for now would be to get in touch with a breeder on-line. I wish I could tell you where to find a leo there but I never saw one until I got to California.
