Question about food

red_eyed_magalie Jul 18, 2003 03:03 PM

Does anyone know where I can get Crickets, Meal Worms, Super Worms, Wax Worms, Butter Worms and Silk worms from. I was kinda hoping to get them from the same place but will split into two if necessary. I always order from one place (I wont mention names) and all 250 wax worms were DEAD...I called them to tell them and they said they do not guarantee live arrival on wax worms. I looked on the website and it doesn't say it...the only thing that would come close would be the info about looking on the "weather channel" to see what the temp is to add stuff (cold/hot) packs to the box...so we could argue back and forth with them, but for $8.50 they could have sent another cup and saved a customer. I order 3-5k every other week and sometimes more. I have never encountered any problems with them. Never complained about anything and I recommend them to everyone that purchases from me and even include their brochures with purchases. Not to mention when I set up at a Flea Market to sell some chams I had their brochures on site then! I can't believe it...I am fuming...So, can anyone assist me with my new decision to give someone else my business. I am sure someone else would have been more than happy to replace them at no cost. I would have even paid for the shipping. Nothing! Not even an apology. I even have pictures of them...all black and dead...

Wow, what a story! I would write the owner a letter. Can't imagine them letting something so trivial ruin a customer relationship.

I have ordered from Timberline http://www.timberlinefisheries.com/, Grubco http://www.grubco.com/index.cfm and Reptilefood.com http://www.reptilefood.com/reptilefood/default.asp. I did have a problem with two of them: one, BIG crix mortality, the other mini-mealies were not mini (still have a fridge full if anyone wants to purchse and their crix were not pinhead as promised. However...both of them made good on the problem. One charged me shipping, the other has GREAT cutomer service. The last one I am quite pleased with everything about them so far and will probably stick with them. Email me privately if you want to know who did what

Others I have not ordered from are:
http://www.flukerfarms.com
http://www.edsflymeatinc.com/
So check them out and see if any of them fit your situation.

Hope this helped!

Red_eye_magalie,

I think i know which compnay you are talking about. I will email you privately , so as to not publicly "diss' the horrible company i think you are talking about. (A clue: Good prices, sells almost every chameleon feeder, but absolutely horrible customer service, and answers emails in one/two word sentences)

Lele,

How soon does Grubco shipp your feeder. Let say if i ordered on sunday, when should i expect it to arrive? I know they're shipping isn't next day. The prices are kind of good at grubco, so i am thinking of trying them out.

I use www.expresscrickets.com
www.butterworms.com
www.mulberryfarms.com
and www.reptilefood.com

Express crickets is a bit more but it is next day shipping and in the Summer in FL I have a hard time getting a good live shipment unless I use next day shipping.
I am ordering about 4 or 5 thousand crickets at a time so it brings the price per thousand down and they last me over a month
